Oatmeal Chicken Pan Fried (Clean Eat)

I’m in the middle of “Clean Eat” moment. I won’t call it a diet, i just try to have a cleaner (healthier) choice of food. You know, double the greens and fruits, less red meat, less carbo (specially complex ones). Hiks.. the last one is the hardest for me, since.. i L.O.V.E fried foods ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Well, eating cleaner doesn’t have to sacrifice the flavor. So i try to “trick” it, with this dish. Hopefully, it won’t ruin the diet (oops, finally i called it “diet” LOL ). If it does, well.. it’s worth the flavor ๐Ÿ˜‰ย Anyway, the marinate recipe is my late Pa’s recipe. Trust me. It is the best!!

[Saya lagi “Makan Bersih”. Bukan diet sih, cuma berusaha makan lebih bersih/sehat aja: porsi sayur dan buah dobel, kurangi daging merah, kurangi karbo (apalagi yg kompleks). Hiks.. yg terakhir yg paling berat. Saya ini cintaaaaa gorengan ๐Ÿ˜ฆ :(:( Tapi kaan, makan bersih tidak harus ngorbankan rasa. Jadi saya coba untuk “nipu” dengan masakan ini. Semoga ga ngerusak diet (oops, akhirnya bilang diet juga LOL) Kalau pun iya, well.. setimpal sama rasanya sih ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyway, lumurannya adalah resep almarhum papaku. Percaya deh. THE BEST !!]

Ingredients:
chicken-whole 5-6 big chunks Chicken ย soy sauce 5 tbs Soy Sauce
5 spice 1 tbs Five Spice ย garlic-powdered 1 tsp Garlic Powder
ย cookingwine 1 tsp Chinese Cooking Wine ย oatmeal 1-2 cup Oatmeal
ย egg 1ย Egg oil-veggie 2 tbs Cooking Oil
Steps:
  1. On a bowl, marinate chicken with soy sauce, five spice, garlic powder, and chinese cooking wine. Set a side for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix Egg. Place Oatmeal on a plate.
  3. One by one, roll chicken chunks in egg, then cover them with oatmeal.
  4. Set pan fried (non stick one) on a medium heat. Add Cooking Oil. Wait until the oil is hot.
  5. Put chicken chunks on pan on one side. Let it for few minutes until that side is golden brown (mine is a bit too brown.. hehehe). Turn the chicken to cook the other side. If your chicken chunk is big, you may have to do this for each side.
  6. Plating and enjoy ^^

Hmm.. i’m satisfied with the taste. It taste so sooo good!! ^^ But the oatmeal doesn’t stick on the chicken. I need to do more experiments for that (and yes, a good reason to have this dish again LOL)

Resep Bahasa Indonesia

Bahan:
chicken-whole 5-6ย potongan besar Ayam ย soy sauce 5 sdm Kecap Asin
5 spice 1 sdm Ngohiong ย garlic-powdered 1 sdt Bubuk Bawang Putih
ย cookingwine 1 sdt Arak Cina ย oatmeal 1-2 cangkir Oatmeal
ย egg 1 Telur oil-veggie 2 sdm Minyak Goreng
Cara:
  1. Pada sebuah mangkok, lumuri ayam dengan kecap asin, ngohiong, bubuk bawang putih, dan arak cina. Tutup dan biarkan selama 15 menit.
  2. Kocok lepas telur. Tempatkan oatmeal pada piring.
  3. Satu per satu, gulingkan potongan ayam ke dalam telur, lalu tutupi dengan oatmeal.
  4. Panaskan wajan anti lengket. Tambahkan minyak. tunggu hingga minyak panas.
  5. Taruh ayam pada satu sisi. Biarkan beberapa menit hingga kuning kecoklatan (punya saya agak gosong sih hehehe). Balik ayam untuk memasak sisi satunya.

  7. Set pan fried (non stick one) on a medium heat. Add Cooking Oil. Wait until the oil is hot. Jika potongan ayam besar. kita harus melakukan ini pada setiap sisinya.
  8. Taruh di piring dan nikmati ^^

Hmm.. saya puas dengan rasanya. Uenaaaaaaaakk!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Tapi bungkusan oatmealnya lepas saat digoreng. Saya harus melakukan eksperimen lagi biar dapat cara yg benar (alasan biar bisa makan lagi hehehe) ๐Ÿ˜›
